Dog-Friendly Millet & Lauki Parathas

Ingredients:
1 cup millet flour (such as ragi or jowar) ½ cup finely grated carrots ½ cup finely grated bottle gourd (lauki), with excess water squeezed out Water (as needed)

Instructions:

1) Prepare the Vegetables:

  • Wash and peel the bottle gourd (lauki). Finely grate it, along with the carrots. Squeeze out the excess water from the grated bottle gourd to avoid making the dough too moist.

2) Make the Dough:

  • In a large mixing bowl, mix the millet flour with the grated carrots and bottle gourd.
  • Slowly add water and mix until you get a smooth, pliable dough. The amount of water required may be less than usual due to the moisture from the vegetables.

3) Roll the Chapatis:

  • Divide the dough into small balls.
  • On a clean, flat surface, roll each ball into a thin circle. Use a little extra millet flour for dusting if the dough is sticky.

4) Cook the Chapatis:

  • Heat a non-stick or cast-iron skillet over medium heat.
  • Cook each chapati for about 1-2 minutes per side, until small bubbles appear, and then until they have light brown spots. Avoid using oil or butter.

5) Cooling:

  • Let the chapatis cool completely before offering them to your dog.
