Familiarise Your Dog with Loud Noise
If your pets are afraid of loud noises such as firecrackers, it is good to introduce them to a technique known as systematic desensitization.
What is that?
Systematic desensitization is the process of exposing your dog to things that scare them. In this case, firecrackers.
🔸How to familiarise your dog with loud noises -
â—¼ The first thing that you can do is introduce your dog to the sound of firecrackers at a safe distance and at the same time.
â—¼ While they're observing it, give them their favourite treat or toy to associate the event with positive emotion.
â—¼ If your dog starts panicking at the site or at the noise of firecrackers, introduce them to an un-lit firecracker at the same distance and again, repeat the same task of providing them with their favourite treats or their toys so that they don't get agitated.
This is not an instant solution, but regular training will definitely help your pet.
