Reasons To Spay Or Neuter Your Pet

Neutering is a term used for the surgical sterilization of your pet. And pet parents are always dicey whether to do it or not. So listed are some benefits of spaying or dog neutering.

1. Longer Life

It is seen that the average lifespan of a neutered cat or a dog is longer than unneutered pets, as the former live a healthier life than the latter.

2. Healthier Life

Spayed dogs live longer, healthier and happier lives. This is because they are less susceptible to infections, degenerative diseases, and traumatic/violent causes of death. Spaying also reduces the risk of cancer, when the female dogs are spayed before their first oestrogen cycle.

3. Better Behaviour

Unneutered pets have all kinds of behavioural problems. In male dogs, the most common behaviour is an aggressive temper. Neutering, when done early, can reduce aggressiveness and improve behaviour overall.

4. Your Pet Won’t Go Into Heat:

Dogs generally only go into heat twice a year. They also bleed and urinate excessively during their cycle. Spaying prevents your pet from ever going into heat and exhibiting these behaviours.

5. Prevents Overpopulation:

Dogs reproduce 15 times as fast as humans. And spaying your pets will prevent overpopulation.
